Signs and Symptoms of Shingles

If you have had Chicken Pox you are susceptible to Shingles, since it’s the same virus which has simply returned. Once you have had it, the varicella virus a depressed immune system and stress can cause it to erupt. Shingles might seem harmless to most but to the elderly it could be devastating. "The pain symptoms of shingles can be debilitating. If it is severe and persists for months or years, it is called post herpetic neuralgia (PHN). And unfortunately, persistent pain is a common symptom in people over 60."

Resources for Children with Special Needs
